Leadership Change at NATO ISR Force Operations Wing

SIGONELLA, Italy - The Commander of NATO's Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Force (NISRF) presided over the change of command ceremony of the Force’s Operations Wing.

With an RQ-4D Phoenix as backdrop, Brigadier General Andrew Clark, highlighted the achievements of the outgoing Operations Wing Commander, Colonel Marco Meyer. "It is nothing short of amazing to think about what this organization accomplished in the last three years." Brigadier General Clark said, adding that "This wing created and implemented a new and innovative organizational structure to maximize our responsiveness, flexibility and efficiency".

 The NISRF Operations Wing will play a critical role enhancing our ability to deliver peerless decision advantage to NATO leadership.

The unique NATO Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Force was established at Sigonella Air Base in 2015 to conduct unified ISR operations in support of NATO and its civilian and military leaders. Colonel Meyer lead significant leaps forward as NISRFs Operations Wing Commander, “You, along with the Support Wing, executed over 200 sorties across our area of responsibility, including the Black Sea, the High North, the western Mediterranean, and now into the Greenland-Iceland-UK gap in the north Atlantic." Brigadier General Clark said, adding that "the NISRF Operations Wing has achieved so much under your leadership”

In his speech, the Commander NISRF emphasizes the achievements of outgoing Operations Wing Commander Colonel Marco Meyer.

In his welcome remarks for the incoming Operations Wing Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Schneider, General Clark mentioned, "Yes, there is still much work to be done, but I believe you are the right person, in the right place, at the right time".

"Through several lines of effort, the NISRF Operations Wing will play a critical role enhancing our ability to deliver peerless decision advantage to NATO leadership." said General Clark. "I’m excited to watch you write the next chapter in the history of this amazing organization." he concluded.
